Walking day? After walking on the Saturday we congregated outside church and had a short service.

Linda, did we not have the service after walking on the Sunday? We used to go into St Wilfrid,s school for our jelly and pop etc on the Saturday and then on to our field treat, racing etc.

Ros, GFS was still going in the early ninties, I used to go when I was about 13/14. They held it above the old St Wilfs Club on Rectory Lane. Haven't the foggiest if it's still running now though. xx

Roy, the service was in Church on the Sunday but on the Saturday, when the walk was finished, we stood outside Church and sang The Churches One Foundation. Then tea and races on the field. I still love that hymn today.
