It was the Estate Office for the Hall, it only became Lathom House when Ken bought it and he had the words removed from the from the front stonework which is a shame as it was never Lathom House

I always thought it was Alan Latham who bought it. was a wrestler. used to fight under the name of Francis Sullivan.

Well it is Latham House because my grandad Alan Latham bought it and I live there with my mum Karen his daughter.

Also 'Minnie' get your facts correct nothing has been removed from the stone work, every single detail of the house has been preserved and unchanged at Latham House.

Emma sorry you have got your facts wrong....Do some research. It was the ESTATE OFFICE which was written in stone above the door before one of your relatives Alan Latham, who bought the property removed the lettering and replaced it with LATHAM HOUSE

Scaramouch. You get your facts right. When my dad bought it he had it sandblasted as it was left totally derelict. This made the estate office lettering faint. It’s been Latham house for over 50 years now so get over it. I live there so I know. Time moves on if left to council it would be rubble

'One of my relatives' Alan Latham.... MY GRANDAD removed nothing. He simply added Lathom house to a wooden plaque by the door.

No change on the stone...

I'd be quiet happy to show you personally after all I do live at Latham House, and it's clearly you who needs to take your own advice and ' do some research' seeing as you are so invested in my families home and think you know more than I do.

Emma, Just blow up the above image and you can see it clearly. above the door. ESTATE OFFICE AND that's the name is was always known as before your family purchased the property. You can change the name to what you want.. and although you can remove the lettering and rename the house.. you can't erase History.

We are not trying to remove history. If we were it would not be renovated to the excellent standard Wigan say it is in the conservation document on haigh village. You are the one who doesn’t like to admit my father named the house after himself and so he should he worked hard for it. Get over your jealousy

Well the lettering is completely covered now with a Union Jack flag to commemorate the passing of her majesty. You wouldn’t know that as you don’t live here So scaramouche

Hi I am still waiting for the offensive comments about my dad to be removed. If you have to remove the whole article that is okay I have commented and emailed both Brian and Ron and heard nothing nor had any action taking them down

Says alot about the callaber of people on here really, the sort to pass derogatory comments about someone's home that they walk past.

The sort of people that then make up stuff that isn't true eg. Like the estate offices being removed from the stone on the house which is just a load of rubbish (as of today 24/09/22 when I looked out the window it was still there) and then try to claim they know more about the details of the house than the people who live there.

Oh and then to pass comment on my grandad too, is just lowest of the low (but then this thread is obviously filled with people who live in stunning properties so feel like they are in a position to pass comment on other homes... I feel sorry for you all that you seem to be laying in bed at night thinking about Latham House... Aka the old Estate offices so much. You really mustn't have much going on except for the green eyed monster.

As requests for this thread to be removed have not been adhered too, as I will not tolerate my grandad being slandered, I have passed on the user names of the people involved to the police who from this now have your email addresses associated with hpir usernames.

Online trolling is a serious criminal offence which is not taken lightly and personally more than happy to ensure this is taken further and the offender's punished and fined for thier actions.

So I would like to know when you are removing nasty comments. Not such a nice site is it Few jealous nosy Parker’s on here who need to stick to their own business and stay out of mine and you need to moderate comments better Won’t publish mine but will publish slanderous comments
