That's a very atmospheric photo, Sandra. I remember the bridges being taken down from that railway line but I don't remember the actual railway lines.
Hi Sandra
Good pic'
I remember the line very well, but I can't work out which way round it is ?
No matter - keep sending in the pic's with all the old places on I love 'em.
The sun is setting on this photograph, which tells me you are looking south towards Ince. The Worsley Mesnes flats are to the left; on the right of the track will be the Goose Green estate. This was probably taken further up the line, towards Pemberton; probably around Little Lane playing fields.
Thanks John, looks like it may have been taken from where you say.
Sorry the photo was taken from a slide and I posted it the wrong way round have posted another photo this time correct way oooops !!!!
me and our julie used to walk along the lines to lower ince were my grandma lived great pic brings back memories
I thought the view of the flats was slightly out of sync.
This was taken in mid December, it must have been; or early January. This line was used to reduce the volume of traffic through Wallgate Station; the express service to Liverpool used this route and the Grand National and football specials. Thanks Sandra, keep 'em coming...
