Another good shot John. Looking at the buildings and their condition, the place looked quite well kept. Saying it closed in 66, how long was it operating as a pit ?

The headgear pulleys don't have any winding ropes on them.

It looks as though they were mining coal there for around 90 years. It would have become an NCB mine in 1948. It closed officially in 1965 but there were still miners there dismantling the place when I visited in 1966.
