I think you are right Ron in dating this in the 30s . I seem to remember that there was a plaque in the waiting room dating the bus station's opening as 1938. The nearest car on the row of cars to the left seems to be of no earlier than late 30s vintage. The only Wigan Corporation bus is the double decker on the stand I can only remember as the no. 21 Kitt Green route, the only other Wigan Corporation route from this bus station being the single decker Appley Bridge service.

I remember this area very well....but not in the 30's !!
Used to get the bus to Ormskirk for school...dont ask why, its a long story. I was living in Dicconson St at my Aunt & Uncle's house
My Grandfather went to the Congregational Church & took me in there once to show me round, I would have been abt 10 yrs old.
