I remember this terrible fire and a great benefactor to its rebuilding was Mr.Owen Owen who owned a wholesale fruit and vegetable company lower down Market St. and worshipped there.A lovely man.

A few weeks ago Ron posted a pic of the marble War Memorial tablet from the Queen's Hall (item 34980). As I understand it, the tablet is brought out of storage in November for the church's Remembrance observances. It is a small tablet, with a dedication to those who fell in both World Wars, but no names of the fallen. Also in storage are two framed illuminated Rolls of Honour for WW1 - listing all who enlisted for service. Unfortunately, and unusually, no indication is given to show which men died in the war.
It is likely that the tablet and the scrolls were in the main church when the fire occurred - indeed, one of the scrolls shows water damage - but does anyone know where? Are there any images of them in the church?

I have catalogued the heritage assets for the Queen's Hall in readyness for a heritage room they are in the process of creating.
