Ron, was it not 71 when they were demolishing this? I’m certain I’ve seen at article at the time that said the market arcade closed in 1971.

Yes, you are right Ron, demolition place for the building of the original Wigan Centre Arcade with that Great Wall of Woodcock Street on the corner with that huge blue co-op sign. Then demolished for the building of Market Gate which in time linked up with The Galleries.
