Looks like Grandma is looking after her grandchild.
No, the pub is long gone, Veronica. When I go along Manchester Road in Ince these days, it is hard to imagine how many houses and shops were along that road when I was growing up.
Yet worse has survived this building Irene. One building in particular that is very old has been given a new lease of life. I think it was used as a storeroom. A very old pub.
That little girl with her boots looks like Milly-Molly- Mandy …;o)
At that time women had children in their 40s and 50s.
That's true to a point "Sue"....my Mam was 42 when I was born in 1952, but I don't think they would have had children when in their fifties. Yes, she does look like Milly-Molly-Mandy, Veronica.....she just needs a pink-and-white striped dress.
That would have been a very rare occurrence for a woman in her fifties or late 40’s to give birth. It would have been all over the “Daily Sketch”…
