Hope St. Congregational Church opposite the bus station with the Moss School of Dancing further left, run by Tommy and Hilda Moss whose daughter Jennifer was a Coronation St. star
An interesting picture Veronica. I am an ex Lorry man from the age
of 21 till 71. The 3 vehicles in this picture are a Bedford, a Commer,
and an NCB milk float. The car near the people in the bus Queue is
an Austin.
Once a lorry driver always a lorry driver Ray.
It’s a kind of vocation!!!
A hard job when you think about it…
Gordon, Tommy and Hilda Moss of the dancing school were brother and sister, not husband and wife. Jennifer Moss's parents were Reg and Dora Moss from Wigan Lane.
Sometimes we used to catch the 59 Bolton bus from the far side to Hindley.I wonder if all those folk are waiting for a dedicated works bus.It was a nice feeling in this area and used to go to the Savoy chip pie when at Wigan tech.
Thanks for putting me right Irene. I was under a misapprehension.
I love to any pictures of Hope Street Congregation Church, it was a very imposing building to rival The Queens Hall. Would be good to see any pictures of the interior.
What a loss!
