Wow, that certainly is an old photo! There were still shops just to the right until not that many years ago....I used to shop there! McDonald's is there now.

Thanks Irene.The only shop I knew on this stretch was Seth Ratcliffe’s green grocers,his son was in the same class as me at Argyle St.Used to go to the billiard hall and the Palace,the first picture I saw there was The Vikings.Later on frequented most of the pubs.
