A nice clear image of an earlier time. Reminds me a bit of the old cobblers place down the road from us in Holland Moor.
That was a low, long cottage building with the flagged pathway up the side just like the photo. Where do you find all these wonderful images Ron ?

Did anybody mention, Greenslate Road is in BILLINGE, not Orrell and so was the Colliers Arms.

Played bowls there many years ago sadly demolished and new modern pub built , also demolished and houses there now .

It's well known that Greenslate Road is in Billinge, not Orrell, like Mick says. Who knows why Ron Hunt has put it as in Orrell?

Ron spends time and his money in finding these superb ancient photographs for folks to see, and all the few can do is try and nit pick about which locality it's in, they don't even live anywhere near the area, whereas I believe that Val Bradshaw does or did so.
