Yes Ron, Proceed up Ormskirk Road from Saddle Junction, after approx
300/400 yards, Motorac was on the left side of the road. From memory,
I think it closed perhaps, 20 years ago, and nothing replaced it. The front
of the shop has been a dreadful sight for most of these years.

Hi, a quick browse on Google's Street View seems to confirm this location is 180 Ormskirk Road, at the corner of Arundel Street.

Having grown up in Pemberton, I recall my dad buying his engine oil from here. The arrival of Halfords at the Saddle Junction probably affected Motorac's trade by the late 1990s and I believe the business eventually closed about 15-20 years ago. As some one has already said, the shop location has never been used since and has now fallen into a bad state of repair.

My wife's Aunt and Uncle lived in the flat over the top with there two sons in the mid 60's

It's currently up for sale. I'm surprised it's taken so long to list it, saying how long it's been closed down.

I moved away from the Pemberton area forty five years ago and either walked or bussed it along Ormskirk Road before then, but I've no recollection of this shop, though I didn't have a vehicle so I wouldn't have needed to go here. The man in the photo looks very familiar though, he maybe came into the local pubs or clubs and I recognise him from there.
