Is this picture taken from St. Peters Cricket pitch, looking at the old disused line that's now a cycle path?

I realise now where it was taken from. The picture was taken from the top field or George Ormrod's farm.
Looking under the bridge you can see the end house on Crown Street.
This train going past must have been a special, as I was very much around in the early 80's and certainly don't remember steam trains...

Sean,you are right about the location.The steam trains ran on one Sunday every Sept.for about 5 years,they went from Wigan to Manchester and back twice on each outing.
