A superb photo, I do remember watching Pemberton Carnival going along Ormskirk Road, though that would have been in the 1950s.
Not only a preponderance of oversized flat caps, but a preponderance of Clowns too, and they've even dressed up their Goat as a mascot, what larks they're having even if it is raining.
