Although the site of Westwood Houseis on that map, it's actually Westwood HALL what's displayed.
Keith this is NOT Westwood House. This is Westwood Hall.
Westwood House was located just off the bottom left hand corner of this map.
The path shown on the map branched off from Westwood Lane, just after passing over the railway bridge. It cut a big chunk of Westwood Lane off. Often used it, walking the dog. Short cut to the power station, Poolstock, and the Kay’s Houses.
Albert, your right walked down that Path to Kay's houses on my Paper Round 1961 to 1963..Paper Shop was on Warrington Rd on Bend near Black Diamond.Cant remember owners name had two Sons. One was a Police Officer.
I remember the newsagent Jimmy. I took papers for Mason’s, I believe his name was Stan. Shop was opposite Manley Street, 1947/49. Prior to that, I took papers for Tatum’s, Spring View. Do newsagents’ employ paper boys’/girls’ now?.
I did say that Westwood House was not to be confused with Westwood Hall....
The paper shop that jimmy is talking about is not Masons, but I cannot remember there name because I delivered papers from the same shop. If you were walking towards springview the shop was just after indscreen lane.
