Children happy with simple toys in those days!

What a lovely photo....the little boys and girls with balaclavas and bonnets and such innocent faces. I remember Oxley's had a pay-system where the customer's payment was whizzed along a chute to the upstairs cash office and their change and receipt came whizzing back down. I love the simplicity of the decorations and of the toys on display.....not a technical object in sight; the fun they provided would have come straight from the imaginations of those children.

I worked there late 60's early 70's. "Are you being served" didn't come close to the antics that went on here.
