Looking at the poster again I think it was 1938. December 26th fell on Monday in this year too.

Sybil Dunn, the actress playing the title role, was the wife of actor Jack Haig, who played Monsieur Leclerc, in the sitcom 'Allo Allo'.
She died in 1988.

I understand he turned the part of Lance Corporal Jones down in the series, when they were first casting, and it was then taken by the one and only Clive Dunn.
