If you look carefully on the right, there is a hardy soul in a red top out there playing golf!
Holy frozen golf balls Batman!!
I used to like playing golf in this weather. The hard fairway was especially conducive for my speciality Barnes Wallace rattling the ball along the ground shot .
a friend of mine when it was the other way around once said he hit the longest drive in the world of the old third tee.he blocked it right it hit the iced up canal ,the ball did not bounce but skidded under the bridge that goes over canal in the plantations at two hundred miles an hour headed for top lock.
I've spotted your golfer, DTease - Sport and the British weather eh, . . . Cor! And your bend on its frozen 'way reminds me of how Epsom's Tattenham Corner could have looked as the snow fell on the morning of the 1867 Derby - The month had started with a heatwave . . . Cor!
And what about those bike riders in Yorkshire last week Philip? Pedaling along flooded roads in a tropical downpour. Talk about “The show must go on”. Half of them spent their time in the race aquaplaning along the road on their backsides.
Good job Mick wasn’t taking part. He would probably have been electrocuted.
I suspect a cold day.
I'd known about the recent rains up there DTease, but not of the race. However, I've since had a look at some of the race scenes, while on Images, there's a good shot of the riders going over, or should that be crossing Boothferry Bridge. Thanks.
