Where, when, what year!!!!!!!!!!!
WW,today,2017.
I would say late 1940s to early 1950s.
Reminds me of the black/white films from the 50's. Ealing comedies I think....!
Looks like one of the two women in the foreground was supping Worthington White Shield.
I think Alan meant the photo TD.
I dont know why I bother!!!!!!
Brought to mind some memories of when pubs were packed with folks having a really good time, very often with a piano playing and someone would always get up to sing, there was some good singers too.
Alan asks "where, when and what". TD says "today". Irene says "1940s to 50s". Arthur says"Alan meant the photo". Alan says he doesn't know why he bothers and Alex has put his tuppence worth on a photo of a lorry!
Have we started Christmas early? because I've supped nowt yet!
I think you're bang on there Cyril. Go in a typical pub today and they're all staring at sky sports or mobile phones.
All it needs is for Howard to start 'suspecting' where the merry makers are and what time it is!
The wallpaper in this establishment would appear to consist of pages taken from the Manchester Guardian, a vast improvement on the Spanish themed decor of the Worthington in my view.
A good photo and some very good and witty comments.
Great photo of a time long gone.
The Long Neck, our Joseph? xx.
Not sure, Our Irene. It was my first thought though and I don't know why. A very merry Christmas to you and yours from me and mine, Irene.
It would probably be when a pint of mild was 10d, and closing time was 10.30pm & 10pm on a Sunday. 3pm in the afternoon.
The man on the far right reminds me of someone I knew from Aspull and originally Top Lock
