Put this picture, posted earlier under the SCHOLES heading. Would be missed by people searching for pictures of Scholes as it was listed under Wigan Carnival.
i remember this scene very well indeed where the lady and the children are standing was a tripe shop.under the veranda the shop next to the tripe shop was a confectioners called prices,which was run by a lady called alice,joe and bill mcfarlane used come into the shop regulary,and the respect they gave to alice was realy nice to see as they had a reputation for being rough types.

Hello Joe, the confectioners you mention was Swifts, Prices was higher up Scholes past Schofild Lane. Did you live in Bankes Strret ?
