Newspaper cutting showing the opening of Hellers Furniture Store 1930's I thought it was located on the corner of King Street West and Wallgate but looking closely at the photograph I'm nw having doubts? No doubt someone will know.

It was on the corner of Wallgate and King St West, Ron. The advertising hoarding and posters that can be seen are on the corner of King St West and Clarence Yard, where the present day Westward House stands.

As you state Ron, I can only remembering it being on the corner, unless over the years they expanded their shop. My parents bought their first bedroom suite from Hellers.

There was an upmarket furniture store. actually in King Street, opposite the County cinema, for the life of me I cannot remember the name. Was that also Hellers?.

Don't know if my memory is playing up but somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to recall reading somewhere that this store was opened by Gracie Fields.
