I remember this scene well, and recall wondering what the cylinders were; they were protecting the newly-planted trees. As the trees grew, we began to take our dogs over Viridor for their walks, and I enjoyed watching the changing seasons, from daffodils to toadstools and falling leaves. We had three dogs eventually, but Ziggy and Merlin have gone and we just have Ben now, who is nearly twelve.
Cant believe how much the trees have grown in 10 years
How its changed. We live in Lowton and the forestry created Bryom Wood in Lowton about the same time. I was lucky to plant some of the trees at Byrom. We walk our border collie round Byrom its great. When the chance arrives we walk to Viridor via Dover Lock calling at the pub on return journey. Sometimes we carry on to the Three Sisters. I lived at Bryn and spent manny happy hours playing on the Three Sisters in the 1960's. Good to see it being enjoyed.
