I loved to eat the black peas. I bought some, but after I`d cooked them the taste was nowhere near the same. They put some extra ingredient in !! My sister, seven years older than I, wouldn`t be seen dead, as they say, in the black pea saloons.

I can still remember the first time i had black peas ,it was bommie time and we dipped our mugs in an owd tin bath full of um ,the lady who cooked them was mrs Fowler of Bank top bunglow up standih.
