Wigan Album

The former Lancashire and Yorkshire route from Wigan to Crow-nest junction still in use today.

Passing through Hindley, it's been good to see the results of the work which volunteers have put in over recent years to make the station more presentable. However, I thought they were restoring the station gardens to their former glory, perhaps as they were pre-nationalisaion - when, of course, everything in the garden was rosy. From the decay shown in these pics, it would appear that the station's glory days were a bit more recent.

Sorry Rev, the glory days were back then, only two lines now instead of four. Enough said!
