What Year is this, Its a one way street now The Cars in the street are facing the opposite way to the traffic flow of today.

Went in a time or two when it was a Burtonwood house, "The Black Horse"
The Lychgate, although it's opposite the gate of the same name, (meaning "Corpse Gate"), where cadavers were sheltered before burial...Not very apt for a pub name..;o)

Like many pub names this new name for the Black Horse is misleading. The lych gate is the one below the church on Rectory Lane not the big imposing gateway near the pub which is the Peace gate to give it its proper name.

I lived in this pub for a time 1956 / 7 ish i was the Black Horse then
