I was told, more than once when I was a lad,that the "Ring of Feathers" was at the back of The Raven.
used to pay my AEU subs upstairs in the back room on alternate Mondays( I think)
does this pub still trade?
A very beautiful Edwardian (?) dark wood and bevelled glass interior, as I recall. I haven't lived in Wigan for more than thirty years, but have just looked at The Raven on Google street view, and it look to be still open.
One of the last proper pubs in Wigan.
Sorry to disappoint you but the Raven as not been open for over twelve months.

The Raven has opened again and does the best value meals in Wigan especially Johns Pies
