It's brilliant, Josie, and well-done Gerry! You look lovely in that dress, josie, as did your Auntie all those years ago; is it the actual same dress or a copy? Thankyou so much for putting it on.
Truly excellent job, this photo. The watch is gone, the heads are swapped but everything else is a copy of the original? Modern technology helps us revisit the times of long ago. Very interesting and truly inspirational! Makes me want to try this on my own photos of long ago :)
Its all done by Magic Irene.. in a nutshell take Midreds body and Josies head put them together and reinsert into the original picture. Josie wishes the dress was still available, she'd be out on the town with it on
Josie I'm Irene's friend. I've posted a question for you on communicate/places/ince memories
Gerry, now I know and have looked closely, I can see that the folds on the dress/cardigan are in exactly the same place but that isn't noticeable at first glance. What a lovely thing for Josie to have, a picture of her and her Aunty together.
Whereabouts in Hindley is the wall?
Now Henry I know I will get shot down if I say where this wall is because I anm reaaly notsure whether its Hindley Ince or Aspull but here goes... walk up to top lock on the canal then walk through the area that used to be the national coal board when you come to a small row of terraced houses going downhill towards the golf links just at the bottom of the hill turn right and the wall is there over a small brook.. you should see golfers walking past here to go to a hole that stands on its own (off the main golf course) We used to call this area "The Delph"
It's in Aspull without dout, my friends the farmworths use to live on the pig farm there. If you carry on walking you come to Hall lane, in Aspull.
