Paul where was Great George St in Scholes, the only one I can remember was off Wallgate where my Grandparents lived
i used 2 live at no 21 great george street from being born till i was 11 then we moved cos the houses became slums woo a councel house there was me 1 sistyer 2 brothers our last name was lowe
The only Great George Street in Wigan was in Wallgate ... Trust me, there was no other by that name!!! God Bless. johnboy.

John boy : may I ask did you know a family called Yates who lived at 41 GG street? My grandmother died in 1936 aged 37 she had five daughters. My mother was born in 1923 her name was Elizabeth (Tizzy). Hope you read this comment - thank you.
