Not in hardybutts though oasis had a picture of the blind steps on one of their album covers
The 'Blind Steps' led onto Hardybutts at the top - still there to this day and named after Tom Woodcock VC in recent times.
I remember the ‘ blind steps’ well. It was my playground as a child in the 60’s when I lived with my grandma on Darlington St. East. My Grandad my Dad and uncles used to go into the Crispin on Birket Bank-on a Sunday evening leaving me and my cousins in Grandmas safe hands. Club orange and Crisps with a blue salt twist was always our treat. St Catherine’s church in the background of the photos is where I was christened. So many good memories of the whole area.
