Black Diamond pub at Lower Ince before the roundabout was built and Ince Green Lane was still open to two way traffic.

I used to catch the bus to Abram when I worked at Ashton's Garage in Bickershaw Lane. That would have been around 1967. Used to cost me a shilling round trip!

This was where I 'cut my teeth' in the licensed trade when my husband Don and I ran The Black Diamond - gradly folk, lovely customers, and my brother Brian DELANEY RIP lived in Leaway, Higher Ince. Fond memories!
