Approaching Plank Lane lift bridge, behind another narrow boat, on our maiden trip in our narrow boat Falcon. Our trip took us from Preston Brook via the Bridgewater Canal to Burscough, on the main line of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

AS the Plank Lane bridge changed...dose it still operate like the one in the photo, or as it got two that lift??
The bridge is still a single span bascule bridge. The green footbridge in the foreground has gone - though a pipebridge remains there.
