Looks like California Pit to me, the ventilation shaft is still there.

Is that not the slag tip, in the middle, to the left of the shaft, it would be the general area looking from the ladies lane vicinity,

Looks like California Pit to me as well. In the background is possibly the "Wutchie" ruck.
California pit can still be seen, its on Hall Lane surrounded by a clump of trees in a field across from Bradshaw Cottage near Pennington Green.
