I can see the lights & hear the noise of the fair that used to come to Wigan market place, China stalls up by the door, the Caterpillar, the Walzters, the up & downy merry go rounds... candy floss.. toffee apples, great memories. Aren't we the lucky ones
You've just said it all Helen, happy days .
Don't forget the black peas too!!!!
I can remember the pot fair and my Mum and Nan buying a box with what they thought was a clock inside, when they opened it it was and old bloke on a bike. Brilliant days the life and soul has now gone out of Wigan. The people resposible should hang their heads in shame.
It wasn't the cleanest of places , but my god it made up for it in character !
yes the picture of a fantastic market. I has a younger man worked wigan selling for many years scrap pads and demonstrating lines. I stood facing Brianshack ladies fish shop, and also worked the pot fairs glad to hear of the pot fairs return.
