Standish Station was situated about 1 mile to the east of the village centre, down Rectory Lane. It was on what is now called ‘the west coast line’, from London to Glasgow, but those older residents who remember using the station, mainly recall trips to the seaside at Blackpool, travelling to watch Preston North End, or going to work at Coppull Ring Mill.
It closed on 23rd.May 1949.

Only a matter of time before this station in put back into use, although a site nearer the old Carrington's factory in Bradley has been mooted as a more favorable location. Won't be long before the road network grounds to a halt with all the development.
