That was the place I tried to learn to play snooker, never did master the game, it was just lower down than the Palace cinema

IT WAS KNOWN LOCALLY AS THE CAT ,WHEN IT CLOSED DOWN IN THE FIFTIES QUITE A FEW OF THE PATRONS WENT TO THE TOWER IN PLATT BRIDGE.

My dad used to help out here. Jack & Ida had it until they retired & sold it off.Joe Jackson was my dad.That would be in 50`s.

My grandad Albert hurst used to help out here in fifties, my marble bag was made from an off cut of baize when a table was recovered6
