What happened to all the headstones?

The gravestones were moved in the 1960s. Most were stood up against the perimeter wall. (I assume they’re still there.) I remember this being done when I was a child.

Great photo! I've been looking for images of the old graveyard for a page I am creating about it. This one would be ideal. May I have permission to reuse it? (It would of course be appropriately credited).
