This is the Limes Farm which I believe was in Standish, and is where my mother's father Fred Lewis' family lived. Circa 1900 give or take 20 years I would say. Fred migrated to Australia circa 1907.

very interesting as i was the last person born on the old limes estate. i was born in the first room from the right on the photograph, above the sloping porch roof.

Hello David, Thank you for your comment. I know nothing about the History of the Limes. Can you offer any other background on it? Was it passed down through the Lewis', and what happened to it? Have very vague info about the Limes except the old photo, and have never found anything on i'net in my ancestry research. Regards, Sheryl

Great to hear from you Chris. I have a photo of Bert Lewis which I am uploading right now. I have found out such useful info on this website on two branches of my ancestors, compared to all other places I have ever looked!

Many thanks Chris! I must say this is rather like Xmas for me, I have always felt a certain affinity with my ancestors in both England and Scotland in particular, even though I live in Australia. This is wonderful info. I think we feel a need to know this stuff as we get older. Regards, Sheryl
