Does anyone remember the stocks which were on the land across from the Swan? I believe the KFC is there now.

Looking at the George inn in Fleet Street.
,winstnleys pram and toy shop started their shop as paint and wallpaper store one of the houses next to the inn.
the photo shows the area,cant see stocks,in the 60s it was a garden and forms on it ,the area as been built on now,what are left of the stocks are at the end of kfc and lock and key shop.
This pic. Brings back memories. The clear ground on the left was poll hillock here polls (voting) ) was held. During WW11 an EWS tank was located there (Emergency Water Supply)
Was this the original White Swan that is now on Ormskirk Rd Pemberton?
