Is the building in centre of picture the old bus terminal?

No Scott it is the old market hall. The bus terminal was further down to the right of the photo.

The Market Hall, given to the town by Nathaniel Eckersley with a covenant attached. Of course, this didn't matter to the council.

Andrew - Thanks. I think that if a benefactor leaves something to someone/group/town etc. and that that gift is accepted by the same. Then the wishes of the benefactor should be respected at all times.
