Ozy, someone commented on today’s PAD about Dennis being concise, they don’t come more concise than this.
What’s the story behind these three bits of rough but well attired workmen strutting their stuff on Wigan Lane, are you one of them??????

At first I thought these three were ‘baddies’ from ‘ The Good ,The Bad and The Ugly’. But it looks like they are very hardworking lads just having a break from rolling tarmac. By the looks of them they have been rolling in the tarmac. You very often see retired men watching them working! Probably thinking to themselves I could do that! You don’t see heavy steam rollers these days…(or I haven’t) whatever happened to them!? I mean the ones with a driver years ago…

The man in the middle has a familiar face, but I can't place him.
Veronica, the last steam roller I saw was on Dad's Army with Mainwaring failing to drive it, and causing mayhem as usual, and I too have only seen the mini-rollers flattening the road tarmac, suppose they're easier to move around on a flatbed truck.

I mustn’t have seen that episode Cyril I had better look for it.

I recall when on a visit to Brighton in 1972 taking a photo of The Beverley Sisters walking down ‘The Lanes’ all dressed alike, arm in arm.
I don’t think these are the Beverley Sisters but they have the same demeanour.
Could they be singing ‘Brothers, Brothers, there were never such devoted brothers?’

Veronica, thinking back it was the original 1971 feature film they made, here's the trailer :

What is the significance of this 8 month old photo on here?
It's more suited to photo a day, surely?
I thought the album section was for "old photos" only?

A bit late in my comment...lots of old steamrollers, traction engines etc have been saved by the Cushing Family & on show at Thursford Steam Museum here in Norfolk, a wonderful nostalgic sight to see.

You are correct, Charlie Street, it should be on PADS, but I believe from what other members of WW have told me that they think PADS is now a closed shop, and it seems only except photos from Colin, Dennis and Mick.
Maybe some members who have sent in perfectly good photos that never appear could confirm this.

Mick, that is very unfair of you to say that, when I first started sending photos they all seem to be by Brian but that’s because so few were people sending in Photos.
I don’t know which of the very many Mick’s you are but a ‘Mick’ seems to get more than his fair share of screen time.
Others have the opportunity to send pictures and we don’t choose which appear so perhaps stop complaining, get your camera or iPhone out and get out and about looking for something of interest for us all and join the queue like we all do.
And perhaps put your full name up so we know who you are!

Mick,
I totally agree with you, if your face fits you wear it on WW, I have been blocked for telling the truth a few months ago, WW is going down hill fast just look at some of th rubbish that’s allowed now
