Keith, what an interesting photo,I would have loved to have had a look in that shop and window,I wonder if that’s a doll or a baby that the young girl in front is holding, mind you the little girl in front of the photo in the purple dress looks like a doll..and I’ve only just noticed the boy stood next to the man dressed in a dark jacket with silver buttons down the front is holding a little puppy…also the lady on the extreme right looks eerily like a good friend of mine who passed away about ten years ago..and the bone shaker well I wouldnt even be able to get on that,it seems very tall.
Yes Keith,it’s a very interesting photo which really does take you back..lovely.
If a bike was left outside a shop these days it would get pinched unless it was locked to a post. Lovely photo of the Post Office. I always remember the Post Office in Scholes, you would hear the thumping sound of a stamp when the old folk were collecting their old age pensions. Don’t hear that anymore or see the Pensioners queuing up outside the doors. The queues nowadays are folk returning items!
A few of these people would still be around in the 1950s and 60s. Can anybody put any names to them?
