Looks a well built bloke, bet he could blast out a note or two.
Was this person,s first name richard. And did he have a son called Robert.
He would have been a neighbour of my Great Grandfather who lived at 42 Byron Street.
Hi Liz,Yes its my Granddad Richard and his son was Robert,Hope you and Ethel are keeping well
I have been trying for ages to get info on Ethel,s and Gerald,s side of the family.I was amazed when I saw this photo on here.My mum use to talk a lot about her first husband and when he died in the war and how she had to live with two small children.I have tried to get info on the Kelly family, can,t find anything.I have not seen Ethel for awhile but she is ok as far as I know. Its nice to put a face to a name.
My grandma Emily Gavaghan lived at 11 Byron Street in 1912.On her death she had not moved far,she was in Wignall Street till 1954.The Gavaghan family continued to live in Wignall St until late 1960.Does the name ring any bells??
Mr and Mrs Gavaghan lived at either 39 or 35 Bulteel Street Pemberton (or is it Worsley Hall?)in the late 70s. He died first and she passed away later. They were lovely people. I remember them from Byrom Street.
The 1911 census shows my Grandfather and grandmother,Thomas and Lena Johnson lived at 24 Byrom St. Children were Richard,William,John,Isabella and Mary.Thomas died soon after this date.Would like to know if anyone knows what happened to them. Thanks.
My family history shows my maternal line (Ratcliffe's) lived on Byrom Street from the 1881 census to the 1911 at various different houses, i bet this chap and many that are speaking on here were neighbours!
