This shop was on the corner of Millgate and Station Road and was demolished in 1988. The building that replaced it lasted less than 20 years, that was demolished to make way for the Grand Arcade.

The building that replaced it became Yorkshire Bank. Bought a suite from Waring and Gillows about 1973.

Worked on the roof replacing some glass when i was an apprentice in the sixties i will never forget when a sliver broke off and dropped down into the shop and stuck into a highly polished table.

Before all the firms mentioned, it was originally "Pooles", then "Oxleys"
