I worked with your dad at the Cleansing Dept.for a couple of years from 1962. he was in charge of the furnaces and also put dogs and cats 'to sleep' for a tanner a time in the electric box. not a nice job but somebody had to do it!I worked in the office as a very junior wages clerk at the same time as Keith Ashcroft who later played for Wigan RLFC.I remember your dad as a bloke who had time for anybody, including stupid young lads!!

Hi Dave, What about the other young lad who worked in the office? You remember him? He was the nice looking one.

Hello Alan, I can't say I knew any other good looking chaps in the office unless you mean Rupert, Sid, or Harry. There was a young kid there I vaguely remember; but it was nearly half a century ago. Frightening isn't it?
