Ron, not the Borough Police Station, but the Lancashire Constabulary Divisional HQ.
The Borough Police Station was in King St.

Bob T you’re absolutely right, I was a shorthand typist there in the 60’s.

Ron, good picture.
I think that the area behind the wall directly in front of Coops is the remnants of the rear garden of the old Manor House which once stood in Hallgate.
