Close up of the makers name and serial number on the engine we are conserving at the Temple Mine at Matlock Bath in Derbyshire.
This engine was built by John Wood and Sons, Engineers of Wigan, probably 1925/26.

I can't think what could be made in Wigan, just 100 years after that remarkable peice of engineering
