This engine built by John Wood and Sons was installed at the above mine we think in the 1920s, it is now at the Temple Mine, Matlock, Matlock Bath in Derbyshire. It is no under conservation by a volunteer team from the Peak District Mines Historical Society who run the Temple Mine as a show mine as part of the Peak District Mining Museum, Matlock Bath.
We would love further information on John Wood and Sons, and on this particular engine which is on display during conservation, we would like to give some information on the firm who created with the display as we move forward and will be making interpretation boards as time allows.
If you can help us with this information we would be very grateful.
Paul Smith, Membership Secretary of PDMHS Ltd. (A society for the study of old mining, mainly lead mining in Derbyshire, but covering much wider mining interests).

Might not be a lot of help to you but it's a start.

Mike Barton, Are you the same Mr Barton who was a manager at Levertons?
