Worsley Mesnes were prodigious builders and re-builders of steam winders and other mining equipment. Here is one of their product at Point of Ayr colliery in North wales, no longer working under steam but with compressed air. It is interesting because it also had a full set of Worsley Mesnes auxiliary equipment - brake and reversing engine, pneumatic overwind/overspeed controller and and Mellings' patent valve gear.
