When I worked at the pit Smiths coaches were used to get us to work. Also at the W/end they were laid on FREE to take you to the night clubs at Blackpool and Blackburn.

My gran used to call a coach a saloon.
It's a 1950 Leyland Tiger PS2 with Beccols FC31F coachwork, new to Smiths of Wigan and bought from them in 1955 along with a number of others by Bere Regis & District.
Beccols built coaches at Chequerbent, Bolton between 1947 and 1952. The name was an amalgam of the founders' surnames - Beret BECket and George NiCOLS.

Peter I went to the Mecca in Blackpool every weekend in the early 70s and the coaches we travelled in were quite a lot newer than this?
