Where was Leigh bus depot?
Leigh depot was in Holden Road, the 82 was a regular between Leigh and Bolton.
Leigh Road Atherton, Howe Bridge,
Alex, the bus station was on Holden Road.it was nice when towns had their own buses, single deckers were quite rare then, and the double deckers were usually full.
Can anybody remember the colour of leigh buses.
Garry, the bus depot in Atherton was for the LUT buses.
Leigh buses were blue and cream, Leigh bus DEPOT was in Holden Road, Leigh bus STATION was in King Street (where it is now) and LUT's head office was on Leigh Road in Howe Bridge and had nothing to do with Leigh Corporation.
Oh..thanks Maurice it was LUT.
All the Leigh double deckers had a notice in the drivers cab."Beware of Chat Moss bridge",the bridge was quite low.
I remember Chat Moss bridge, went under it many times on my way to Risley, a later bridge.
